HID flashlight bulbs gaining demand and interest among flashlight enthusiasts

HID flashlight is today, among the most powerful flashlights available on the market today. These are the ones that you find used as spot illumination lights or similar tools at functions or places.

HID stands for high intensity discharge. Technically, an electric voltage is passed across two tungsten filaments inside a bulb filled with an inert gas. High intensity discharge occurs between these two filaments as the gas gets ionized. The discharge starts glowing up and as heat increases the ionized gas turns into plasma thereby further increasing the light released.

A good quality reflector/concentrator can provide this light into a good beam and spot for effective illumination purposes. HID flashlights are used especially in tactical situation when the need for bright light is paramount and cost and electricity usage are not much of a concern. In the present day, HID flashlight models offering good light for low cost and electricity consumption are available.

Typically, the need for bulbs are in the range of 4000 – 6000K but manufacturers have consistently desisted from putting these on their lights. Often flashlights flaunt 8000K bulbs. It is interesting to note that there are good sources for 4000K HID blubs, and the market is buzzing with interested buyers. Typical rates for bulbs of these ratings can go upwards from $60, but one might get good bargain at sites like Amazon.com, Shopping.com, AliBaba.com, DHGate.com and DealExtreme.com

MillionCandlePower.com will try and bring a review of HID flashlight bulbs and also places to buy them online, soon. Stay tuned.
